Room ok for max 1 night. 10degs outside yet too warm inside room? Happy hour at bar good value but need more staff.

We didn't go our plans had to change . I contacted the hotel explaining the situation and that as I was fully aware that I wouldn't be able to claim my payment back .I asked as we were regular guests there when we go on holiday if we could change the dates. We did not even get a reply to our request . So instead of cancelling the stay . We just didn't turn up. Why cancel the stay to enable them to sell the room again so get paid for it twice ?
